If you want to experience pure Bavarian idyll with wonderful mountain views, apple trees, lush meadows, gentle cowbells and a waterfall, then the Gasthof Butzn Wirt is the right place for you! The theme of cowbells ringing continues in the restaurant, due to paintings of cows on the walls. Due to the renovations pursued by the owner and architect Anton Zeller, the house today shines beautifully simple with a strong concentration on wood. The walls are decorated with stucco and antlers, and of course the tablecloths are checkered. From the six individually furnished and cozy rooms one has a wonderful landscape view. This is what it must be like when you wake up in a fantasy.
You should definitely try a strudel on the terrace. The apples for it come from their own trees and have exactly the right taste: not too sweet, but freshly sour. As a hiker you can enjoy a mountain breakfast with homemade deer sausage and wheat beer. In the restaurant you can choose between a soup of the sweet potato and wood oven chips with Almspeckkrusteln to Schweinsbraten and Carpaccio of the young deer back. The game comes from Brandl hunters. And if you’re lucky, catch an evening where the storyteller Monika Eigner entertains people with Bavarian fairy tales.
